HEAD OF CORPORATE BRANDING

Entity: Marketing & Research – Group Communication

Direct Supervisor: Head of Marketing & Research

Job Purpose Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the responsibility of being an overall brand custodian, tracking the company’s image/ perception in the market (local and international), and suggesting plans to amend and enhance any brand based programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:

A. Shareholder & Financial:

- Set, manage and control corporate branding related budgets to facilitate the delivery and execution of the communications budget and strategy.

- Manage budgeting and all Brand financial objectives.

B. Customer (Internal & External):

- Maintain regular contact with Business Heads, Managers and leaders to ensure full integration and fit of Corporate Branding goals and objectives with Business goals and objectives.

C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):

- Lead the planning effort behind the rolling marketing communication plan in coordination with the Head of Marketing & Research to ensure that both corporate level brand-building objectives and also the product and segment-focused business objectives are supported in a cohesive manner.

- Ensure that each planned activity effectively leverages the company’s Brand at a strategic level whilst delivering the tactical business goals and objectives of product areas.

- Identify opportunities to improve customer brand experience and drive market exposure.

- Produce Branding plans annually to guide the priorities of the Department, working closely with the Head of Marketing & Research to ensure this reflects priorities outlined in the Department’s Plan.

- Ensure the production of quality bi-lingual print and audio-visual material to help promote the desired brand image.

- Lead the conduct of quality reviews of all material prepared by outside printers to ensure correctness and conformity with established corporate brand standards and specifications.

- Oversee the maintenance of adequate supply levels of display and merchandising material and coordination of the distribution to branches, ATM locations and other outlets, ensuring consistency with established corporate brand standards is maintained. Also, ensure the preparation of requisitions for replenishment of supplies.

- Drive the development and implementation of regional and global brand strategies.

- Represent the Group in seminars/ conferences to reflect a superior image about the Group and its strategy.

- Coordinate in the development and implementation of all marketing programs (Advertising, Promotions, and PR) to support the Group brand.

D. Learning & Knowledge:

- Extensive knowledge of integrated branding techniques and how to select and apply the use of them to meet campaign objectives

- Hold meetings with direct reports and assess their performance.

- Take decisive action to ensure speedy resolution of unresolved grievances or conflicts within the team.

E. Other:

- Ensure high standards of confidentiality for commercially sensitive information.

Education/Experience Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Marketing, PR or related subjects.

- Minimum of 6 years experience in a major bank of which at least 5 years in a managerial capacity of a brand marketing & research function.

Required Special Skills:

- Evidence of ability to track and evaluate effectiveness of branding campaigns.

- Ability to develop and implement branding strategies in complex organizations.

- Ability to be involved with highly-sensitive information, using discretion and integrity.

- Excellent presentation skills.

- Resilient, with the ability to work to deadlines and maintain high levels of professionalism under pressure

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic (preferred).

- Self-motivated, eye for detail.

- Ability to persuade others.

- Flexible team player and able to work and deliver under pressure.

- Understand business issues and opportunities and translate them into a vision, strategies and plan to chart a course of action.

- Ability to inspire and motivate others to gain commitment.

Operating Environment/ Location:

- Located at the company’s Headquarters in Qatar with visits to domestic and overseas entities, as and when required/ considered necessary.

Framework and Boundaries:

- Group’s overall strategic plan.

- Budgetary/ scorecard targets.

- Applicable policies and procedures.

- Relevant regulatory pronouncements of applicable local and international regulators and related best practices.

- Delegated and re-delegated authorities as per the delegation of authority structure.

- Instructions of the Head of Marketing & Research, and GM Communications.

Communications and Working Relationships:

- Department management and management of the department units, subsidiaries, branches and other Group entities, whether within or outside Qatar.

- Close working relationships with the Head of Marketing & Research for coordination and approvals.

- Regulatory authorities, external professional associations/ bodies and also Newspapers, Televisions and other Media Communications.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Directly supervise the Coordinator of Brand & Image and the Officer of Quality Assurance.
