The Business Solutions unit has been set up to provide the highest levels of services, security and global coverage for the corporate world in Qatar through end-to-end networking solutions, using the company’s skills as a centralized managed service provider. The services cover ICT solutions, mobility, connectivity, managed services and telephony solutions.

Business Solutions, created to care for corporate customers, consists of Corporate Accounts Management, Enterprise Sales, Account Operations, Marketing and Sales, and Qatar Data Center.

Position Summary

The Corporate market in Qatar has grown substantially over the last couple of years and thus the challenges for the Business Solutions team. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Business Solutions, this role will play a very critical role in supporting him in facing the challenges of the ever changing telecom landscape. The holder of this position will provide the Executive Director with strategic guidance on the performance of the Business Unit, new products and competitive market intelligence, with a focus on BU revenue & profitability. The role holder will primarily be responsible for developing the strategic business plan and monitoring its implementation while closely measuring and managing the Business Unit Performance.

In addition, the incumbent will help ED in few other Strategic Initiatives including reviewing documents for Board/Top management meeting, providing executive summary of reports, studies etc and doing some researches on best practices, emerging trends etc.

Other Key Relationships: Other Senior Managers in Business Solutions and other Business Units, External Customers, Consultants

Major Responsibilities:

· Develop the Business Solutions Strategic plan in alignment with the company’s strategy & visions

· Assist the BU Head and the BU Senior managers in translating the strategy into action plans

· Provide input to the Sales and marketing strategies of the business unit and drive their implementation

· Use proven and validated analysis techniques to evaluate the performance of the Business unit and issue periodical reports

· Conduct close monitoring of sales, product, revenue and volume forecasts and produce performance reports

· Develop the BU Performance Metrics & helps the BU head/Senior Managers in setting targets & KPIs for departments in the business unit

· Develop and drive the performance management (including reporting & evaluation)for the business unit by continuous monitoring of BU performance on key metrics & reporting any flags/deviation from the plan for immediate corrective action

· Set up and report against marketing metrics to track and monitor operational performance of the unit and all customer focused activities in such a way as to show return on investment and impact on customer

· Works as a Single point of contact for Group Strategy in all matters relating to BU Strategy & evaluation of BU performance on the identified metrics/KPIs

· Provides expert business analysis to the BU head on the current developments in the telecom sector, key changes that may potentially impact the BU

· Manage competitor insight and direct combat strategies. Develop innovative strategies and programs to engender loyalty across all enterprise customer segments and put in place effective and measurable win-back programs

· Provide support & advice to the BU Head in all strategic initiatives

· Analyze the Customer Satisfaction Survey identifying key areas of concern/improvement and prepare actionable along with Department Heads to address/improve them

· Ensure that Service Level Agreements are monitored & tracked

· Provides support on new product launches & helps build long term partnership with key accounts

· Manage, motivate, coach and appraise team to ensure the highest level of performance at all times.

Key Performance Indicators

· Quality of the BU’s strategic plan and the annual business plan

· Supporting execution of Strategy and monitoring performance,

· Implementation of the business plan as per the agreed schedule

· Delivery on the business plan (joint ownership with the Department Heads)

· Continuous monitoring of BU Performance against plan. Flagging off deviations from plan & suggesting course corrective actions

· Providing inputs on business & market intelligence, potential commercial ideas on new products

· Quality of reports produced

Candidate specification: Key Selection criteria

Background & Experience

· A minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 8 years in senior positions with Telecom companies

· In- depth experience of the telecoms markets

· Experience in planning, forecasting, strategic planning and reporting

· A Bachelor degree from a reputable University, MBA is an added advantage

· Strong Analytical skills and experience in providing strategic recommendations driven by analysis, ability to review performance score card

· Strong team player with a positive proactive approach having a sense of urgency and commitment, able to communicate, influence and persuade

· Should support BU head in setting annual business plan and cascading it to departments

· Customer orientation.

Influencing Skills: Must have proven ability to influence senior management and the Board about major strategic business decisions in an environment where the competitive landscape is evolving through rigorous analysis, logical, fact based arguments and comprehensive presentations. Should have a tenacious character and the necessary gravitas to quickly earn credibility within the organization and deal with rapid incisive questioning on the spot.

Team Leadership: Will have the skills to provide critical leadership to a dynamic team by coaching, monitoring and training. Should be able to coordinate a team across the company to ensure the Business plan process is efficiently carried out and delivered on time.

Problem Solving/Strategic Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and identify risk areas in relation to the performance of the BU by taking a strong analytical approach and being diligent and tenacious, able to overcome significant obstacles to achieve business objective by constantly reviewing and improving the approach.

Shall be capable of proactively solving any problems.

Result Orientation: Should have a strong drive to achieve results, execution of BU’s Strategy and preparing road map for Strategy execution

Hi,The main disadvantage of setting up within a free zone is that companies are potentially at the mercy of higher leasing rates and related fees with company formation in Qatar; this information can be ascertained in advance from the local authority of the free zone in which the business wishes to set up.Thanks.....
